Dorothy takes a break from Oz and Alice visits from Wonderland for some gossip about hatters, witches, queens and flying monkeys. Dorothy brought apples and Alice brought the tea. Click your heels three times and follow that rabbit!

This is a great idea. I love the girls’ expressions–they’ve got some gossiping to do.
All you need is Wendy and you’ve got yourself a Lost Girls prequel.
wonderful piece! the Dorothy and Alice look super cute! and i love the treatment of the background, great contrast and focus!
Well done. All of your work is fantastic. How do you achieve the chalk texture?
Oh, I’d love to sit in on the gossip between these two! Wonderful illustration! I love the style of these girls against the cool retro tree background. The dark navy blue sets off the foreground nicely too!
haha this is great!!
Mike, this is so fun. When I first saw the image I thought to myself – aren’t these girls in the same story? You’ve managed to blend the two different tales to create a sweet piece. :)
Awesome concept/illustration! Excellent character design, colors, and textures! This could be an interesting idea for a picture book.
My late friend, the poet Frank Maloney, wrote a poem, “Alice to Dorothy”. You can read it at http://www.georgevreilly.com/blog/2009/04/20/ReadingFranksPoems.aspx
I used your wonderful illustration (with credit) when I reposted the poem to Facebook.
We did a play last summer, Dorothy Meets Alice. Was this the inspiration, or do you just do it on a whim? It is a really cute play and you should definitely check it out.
