Welcome, duckies! C’mon in! A little experiment with textures. How do you like it?

Margaret just had it up to here with the other girls telling her she tosses around a lot of bull. So she tossed a bull. Never underestimate the power of a woman scorned.

Magnified cruelty? Little Steve was happily frying ants with his magnifying glass… but what happens when he finds that he’s the one under the magnifying glass?

It’s not easy being a giant robot. Sure, the kids love you, but the adults seem to have issues with property, telephone lines, and potholes. As cautious as a robot can be, well, accidents happen. Don’t they?

Just doodling and fooling around with PhotoShop. The background is from melinda webster.
Another drawing by Aaron Zenz’s kids at Chicken Nugget Lemon Tooty, this time by Lily. Here’s my gouache painting of it that I’ve sent off to Aaron for Lily today. Hope she likes it.
I joined in on the fun at Chicken Nugget Lemon Tooty, a site where illustrator Aaron Zenz posts his kid’s (Lily, Isaac and Grace) amazingly creative artwork. Some other artists have been re-interpreting the art and this is one attempt by me. Thanks to Alina for pointing this out.

Johnny Appleseed – an American legend. Johnny Appleseed was a real person that spread the joy of apple growing across the United States. He may have not worn a pot as a hat, but even in his time, such stories made him legendary. Read more. I was inspired by Gustaf Tenggren.

A few odds and ends I’d thought I’d share. I hope you enjoy them. First, Modok! This is a frighteningly cute version of Modok (Captain America’s weird cyborg arch-enemy) that I did for the March Modok Madness blog. While March lasts, you can join the fun too.
Next, a logo I did about 4 years ago for New Cafe, an online community. They chose minefor its simplicity – a dawn, the words “New Cafe”, and a bird chirping the “dot org” to remind us of the url. I liked it. |
Last, the first Bob Jones, and alien engineer that will be featured in the first annual Burning Bob. Go to my dump blog for more info and a link to the gallery featuring the making of Bob. |
A tribute to Bettie Page (1923-2008). Bettie Page inspired millions. Here’s a little illustration (pulp-fiction style novel) I did to honor her passing. She was a good girl, really. xoxo
