Björk! Her Homogenic album cover as a Little Golden Book. The local indie music shop, fingerprints, is having its first gallery show featuring re-imagined album covers. This is mine.
“Forward! On to victory! We shall not rest until we are bathed in the blood of our enemies!” – Kids are so cute, eh?
The Loituma Girl for Illustration Friday’s “twirl” challenge.
Also known as leekspin, the leek spinner, and leek twirl. She’s from an Internet meme from 2006, much like Nyan Cat, weird, pointless, and oddly catchy.
No one prepares a rack of Flintstone ribs like I do. I did this for Illustration Friday’s “prepare” challenge.
A few of the lunch bags I drew on for Jasmine in December.
Maybe I should take pictures of all of them.
I’ve done the Belmont Shore Sidewalk Chalk Art event before. This is my 4th time, actually. Didn’t do it last year as I was in the hospital all year for operations and chemotherapy. I’m healthy now, no cancer, so I’m back! This my interpretation of Vemeer’s Girl with the Pearl Earring.
Pastel on paper (taped to sidewalk), 3.5 by 4.5 feet. It took less than 5 hours.
My daughter’s lunch sack this morning. She’s 11 and loves the movie, Breakfast at Tiffany’s. I’ve been drawing on her bags for the last couple of weeks. Looks like I had a little extra time today.
Drawing exercise. I take a sketch pad, draw a bunch of ovals, and fill them in with faces. My style seems just a tad inconsistent – what do you think?

Bobby, aka Roberta Jones, aka the latest paper-mache alien for burning bob.
Long story. This is a sketch of Bobby as a human. I like to sketch in pen sometimes as mistakes can often make a drawing better than I anticipated.
Day 10 of my 21 day challenge to post a drawing each day.
2 tone zebra. Day 9 of my 21 day challenge to post a drawing each day.
Trying out some vector drawing techniques.

Carrot, snail and lemons from a sketchbook. The first carrots were red, sometimes yellow.
They are first mentioned in Iran and Afghanistan in the 11th century. They came to Europe around the 14th century and were mostly purple.
The first orange carrots were cultivated in the Netherlands in the 17th century but didn’t start catching on until about 200 years ago.
It’s only in the last 100 years that we’ve grown accustomed to orange.
The purple, red, and orange varieties we see lately look new but are actually the original colors.
Day 7 of my 21 day challenge to post a drawing each day.
